Child Safety Standards

Last updated: May 19, 2026

Nubecita is a free, open-source third-party Android client for the AT Protocol (Bluesky) network. We maintain a strict, zero-tolerance policy regarding Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (CSAE). This page describes how Nubecita supports child safety on the network and within the app.

Zero-tolerance policy

Nubecita prohibits the creation, sharing, transmission, or viewing of CSAM or CSAE through the app. Any account discovered attempting to distribute or access such material via Nubecita will be blocked from using the application, in addition to any action taken by Bluesky or other network moderators.

Built-in reporting tools

Nubecita exposes the standard AT Protocol reporting tools directly on every post and profile in the user interface:

User-level moderation controls

Nubecita gives users immediate controls to remove unwanted accounts and content from their experience:

Compliance with law enforcement

Because Nubecita is a client application and does not operate its own backend, social content discovered through the app lives on third-party AT Protocol services (typically bsky.social and connected relays). Reports of illegal material are routed to those operators, who cooperate with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and other competent authorities as required by law. Nubecita will cooperate with valid law-enforcement requests directed at the application's maintainers to the extent permitted by applicable law.
